Video Storytelling
This series of videos was created to introduce and document the progress of FortisBC's Deep Energy Retrofit program and the homeowners participating in it. The program demonstrated how older homes, rich with character and history, could be preserved while incorporating significant energy-efficiency improvements. The objective was to show that homeowners don't have to choose between preserving the homes they love and achieving meaningful reductions in energy use, energy costs, and greenhouse gas emissions.
To tell these stories in a personal and engaging way, we built the creative concept around the familiar expression, "If these walls could talk..." The homes became storytellers, sharing memories of the families they had sheltered while revealing the upgrades needed to improve comfort and energy performance. The result was a series of videos that transformed a highly technical conservation program into relatable human stories about preserving the past while building a more sustainable future.
